YS Falls is located in a secluded rural location approximately 2.5 hours away from Montego Bay where your tour starts. YS falls receives relatively few visitors, allowing you to relax and enjoy the surroundings, away from the crowds. The YS Estate is located deep in the sugar growing region of St.Elizabeth Parish. Once you arrive at the estate a tractor-pulled jitney will take you to the waterfalls.

Montego Bay YS Falls Excursion from Montego Bay

The YS Falls are 120 foot tall and cascade over seven levels. Steps have been built up the side of the falls so visitors can view the falls without getting wet. If you'd prefer a more interactive experience there are natural pools at the bottom of each level of the falls, lifeguards on the site will let you know which pools are safe to swim in. One pool features a rope swing where you can swing in to the water below. For a more relaxing swim there is also a 4 foot deep pool at the bottom of the falls which is fed by natural springs.

The YS estate dates back to the 17th century and originally grew sugar cane and logwood a component in the manufacture of dyes for export to Europe. In 1950 the owners of the estate branched out in to the breeding of thoroughbred racehorses and cattle. In 1990 the estate opened to the public as a tourist attraction.

A recent addition to YS Falls is a canopy zipline tour which lets visitors "fly" 40 feet above the waterfall. The professional team of guides ensure that you are safely strapped in. River tubing rides are also available, allowing you to enjoy the serenity of floating down the river surrounded by the lush jungle towering overhead. There is also a gift shop, bathrooms, restaurant, changing facilities and a children's play area.

We are so glad that we choose to book with Paradise palms jamaica Tours to visit the YS Falls as we had used them in the past for airport transfer transportation. It was simple to book online, we got our confirmation voucher details hours later with our drivers contacts and other info relating to the tour. YS Falls was a quiet alternative to Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios which we have been to before and is more touristy. Our driver Mr Lee met us at Holiday Inn Sunspree in Montego bay where we stayed and drove us to YS falls in st elizabeth in the south coast. This attraction offers zip line canopy swing that took us over across the cascading falls.

After leaving the YS falls which was filled with fun we leave to return to our hotel and stopped along the way for some jamaica food and beverages. Mr Lee took us through a beautiful scenic route back home. we stopped at several locations to take photos. Jamaica is truly a beautiful island and we often come here with my parents who were born here and has a house in St Thomas. This is not the first time we used PPJTours for our transportation services and we can always rely on them to be punctual and reliable since we switched over to them.
