Croydon Plantation Tour from Montego Bay

Capture the spirit of Jamaica as you travel inland for a rural adventure into the island's majestic mountainous countryside. As you journeyed you will reach the beautiful Croydon Plantation, the birthplace of National Hero Sam Sharpe, the famous slave leader behind the bloody Baptist War slave rebellion which took place in Jamaica in 1831.

Croydon Plantation is nestled in the foothills of the Catadupa Mountains, just a short drive from the tourist capital of Montego Bay, we promised that the views here will take your breath away. Picturesque mountains, lush vegetation, wild flowers and waterfalls are just some of the highlights of this tropical paradise and you will have opportunity to take some beautiful photos to take back home.

Your local tour guide will lead you through the working part of the estate and talk you through the history of the plantation and describes the crops they produce. On the way, you can taste exotic seasonal fruits such as pineapples and other citrus fruits, in addition to other crops such as jackfruit and sugar cane.

As you walk through the coffee groves, your guide will also explain the techniques of cultivating coffee and the processing methods as he takes you through working demonstrations. As you may be aware, coffee is one of Jamaica's biggest exports, and the island produces some of the best in the world. This three-hour tour is a fascinating way to learn about Jamaica's agricultural methods and principle produce.

Wow. Where do I start? This tour was just what we needed. Whilst in jamaica in our hotel at the Grand Palladium in Lucea we email PPJTours to find out what what would be the best suited tours for us and we described what we wanted to Mr Campbell who gave us some options and informed us about the Croydon plantation Tour with rates that are all included in the tour. We quickly booked in online for the tour and he send us our confirmation voucher straight away.

Our driver Courtney came to pick us up and he was a very entertaining and a very knowledgeable guide and driver. Our group enjoyed the fantastic scenery and sites along the way as well as the Croydon plantation Tour.

This type of tour suited us as is for those who will appreciate Jamaican landscapes outside the touristy traps of the resort. It was so cool getting up close and familiar with the plants at the plantation. Our group was able to sample some Jamaican fruits, some nuts, see beautiful flowers, and smells of the herbs and spices. The coffee production on a plantation was very educational. This was also a great chance to enjoy sampling freshly picked tropical fruits, whilst enjoying lunch with opportunity to learn while having fun at the plantation.A wonderful day out and Mr Courtney then took us where we could get some refreshing jamaican red stripe beers. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience.
